Informal browser-based chess recreation Anichess, which is owned by Animoca Manufacturers and co-developed with chess platform Chess.com and a number of world chess champion Magnus Carlsen, has introduced its first playable.
Launching in two phases, Anichess combines basic chess with magic spells to combine up the meta. The primary model to launch is the PVE mode during which gamers use magic spells to resolve day by day puzzles. They’re rewarded with Orbs of Energy, an in-game asset linked to the sport’s Orbs of Energy NFTs.
At present on Polygon, the NFTs can be found on the market on OpenSea and supply in-game utility equivalent to unlocking new puzzles with higher rewards.
The second part of the rollout will see the launch of the PVP mode in Q1 2024.
Commenting on the launch of the primary part of Anichess, Magnus Carlsen stated: “I’m excited that Anichess is bringing innovation to chess with spells and technique gaming parts that present a refreshing chess expertise.”
Together with the announcement, Animoca Manufacturers’ membership NFT-collection Mocaverse is launching Moca ID missions inside Anichess via which customers can earn Moca RP and gather further Orbs of Energy.
“Anichess revolutionizes the basic royal recreation by fusing conventional technique and gameplay with the modern parts of spellcasting, a fantasy storyline, and Web3 performance. We’re thrilled to companion with Chess.com and to have Magnus Carlsen and different spectacular chess expertise with us as we pioneer this new dimension of chess,” commented Animoca Manufacturers co-founder and government chairman Yat Sui.
